What kind of things could I do on an Android phone that I couldn't do on an iPhone?

I have an iPhone 3GS now but in light of the iPhone 5 and Nexus Prime rumors I'm hearing good arguments from both sides. My understanding is that the iPhone OS is more secure and user friendly but the Android system allows more features. I'd appreciate any insight.What kind of things could I do on an Android phone that I couldn't do on an iPhone?
The main two features of android phones which are lacking in iPhones are turn-by-turn navigation and speech-to-text. Other than that they are largely similar feature wise. Android offers more personalisation and customisation but also has a tendency to be problematic when updating software. You have more freedom over apps on android but this extra freedom can be a security risk in some. There have been numerous stories of rogue apps which surreptitiously send premium rate text messages. The closed apple app store is the largest of its kind and offers more security that the freedom of the android market place but it can lack the choice as apple retains the right to block submissions to the App Store.
It comes down to what you like best.

Apple = Safety

Android = Freedom

For the iphone you cant change alot of stuff but you can be sure that your phone wont break internally.

for the android phones you can customize it in many ways but there is a risk of you breaking your phone internally.

I recommended an android phone because the iphone is too mainstream and the main reason people buy it because everyone else buys it but they dont realize that there are other phones that can match or beat the iphone.What kind of things could I do on an Android phone that I couldn't do on an iPhone?

---------Use Flash LMFAO... replace ROMs kinda easilty if your tech savy... even unrooted--severely customize and personalize your phone and theme your phone... ahh themes... something Old Man Steve doesnt believe in... he'll tell you to "### OFF and DEAL WITH IT" like he told his i-crap-phone fanboys in 2010 in regarding to iphone 4 issues.. LOL nice man.. LMAO.. of and if your do root your phone...it void warranty like jailbreak iphones... but, with android, thanks to Google, unrooting will bring back warranty since "little chips are in the android phones for the sole purpose of detecting jailbreak/root"... Unlike Apple, Google loves rooting and highly endorses it in order for the customer to get the true "Google Experience"... Google Nexus is mostly rooted, but carriers and manufactur love to lock it... so root is still needed to ROM and MOD. But iphone does have android beat... we still dont have i-books... bahahha LMFAO We got kindle, amazon, barnes %26amp; nobile and many other sites... Android also has 1 major market by google and 8 (tha ti know off so far) 3rd party markets... gotta love OPEN SOURCE! Then you got iOS 5, the android 2.3 rip off copy cat OS... LMAO... and i thought Apple was innovating... guess not... its funny, they call Android junk and stupid.. Yet, you copy practically all functions of Gingerbread into iOS5... we're really flattered Steve that your put "stupid junk" in your iphone! LMFAO .... lets see, whatever... of... forgot funtionality.... if your android doesnt do something, then get the app and make it do something... Apple... well, umm... #### OFF and DEAL WITH IT.. LMAO!!! Both phones have media richness and business aspects... Android has about 60% free apps out of 285,000... Iphone, only 35% free apps out of 335,000.. but if you take all android markets per ONLY 1 Apple Appstore.. you got about 400,000 to 335,000.. with 80% free... ill leave the rest for your to discover...

------------------ You read to much from tipb.com... LOL... Android is more secure than PCMac... and on the same level as Iphone actually... there is an app called Lookout Mobile Security (free btw) that would put your $500 computer anti-virus/malware/spyware/etc to shame... If your android or iphone or windows phone or blackberry gets "sick", then you downloaded or installed something BAD from an untrusted source. Simply and blunt! But if you treat your smartphone liek yoru personal baby, then you'll be fine... but Lookout will always be there to notify you and auto run/scan your phone just in case (for the paranoid shizos)... and, btw, if there was a major virus, you probably downloaded a 3rd party porn app.. LMAO (DroidDream virus)

and user friendly

------------- yep... little setup... lack of functionality, customization, personalization.. that would make any phone "easy" to use and "user friendly"

but the Android system allows more features.

--------- amen brother... testify... and keyword "ALLOWS".... we love you steve! NOT!!!!!!!! LMAO
